Arnon Levy

Arnon Levy is a SALESMAN, not a businessman. He could sell you your own mother, but has no idea what a business plan is. His business plan is modeled on the next 5 minutes! Most executives develop 5 year plans etc. Mr. Levy develops 5 minute plans which is the extent of his vision. He alienates all executives except his family. All his top executives have outright resigned! Orlando Phillips, another salesman and his brother in law, is the only executive left and only because he's family! He's certainly not in his current position because he's competent as he's proven repeatedly to be incompetent! Yet he continues to get promoted! Nepotism is a wonderful thing and this company will be gone soon enough because of it. Orlando Phillips has proven beyond ANY doubt that the Peter Principle is flawed as he hit that wall two promotions ago!!! Do not invest in anything Arnon Levy has his hands in! The man has burned every startup-investor without a backwards glance. Ask around Calgary, its easy to find someone he's burned.

He is a horrible manager, every decision is based on how he is feeling that day, how high he was the night before, or if he has his kids at the office that day or not. It is a frequent joke among Guest-Tek managers that their subordinates might be their managers in a couple weeks, happens over and over. The only ones who stay are the ones deluded by the smoke he blows up their asses.

Senior management of this company are jumping ship as they simply cannot handle him anymore.

Company has had 5 major layoffs in 7 years, you do the math! I agree with all of the comments above, this man should not have authority over anyone at all! My only regret is that this site doesnt have a lower rating than "poor", it looks like we're giving him 1 star out of 5 when in reality we're trying to give him zero! Lets look more objectively at his track record as an upper level manager while trying to minimize personal attacks.

1. A precipitous drop in share price since he regained executive control of the company.
2. Little to no ability to secure external capital other than his own
3. A cease trade order
4. acquisitions with no discernible strategic value
5. massive attrition rate within the company I as well, have to agree with most of the comment made above. Although I think Arnon is a good person and tries to do well, he certainly doesn't have the experiencec and know-how to execute a good business plan. He no longer has a focus on the future. He relies heavily on his father to make a lot of the decision for him and his father is only worried about trying to get back all the money that he lost when the company went public.

Is he a safe bet? No. Just take a look at the stock prices. There has never been any significant upward swing in the last three years. Personally, I feel sorry for the staff that are still there. They are the ones that have to put up with the Levy mess. It's interesting that since the MPT folks invested there has been little or no objective setting in the company. In addition, since the removal of the COO, the VP of R&D, the Director of R&D, the VP of Support Operations, the Director of Support Operations - and more - that the company still has the mantra: we will sell IPTV as the saviour product! Amazing! Clients are running away from this company as it seems clear they don't understand their business is a service business. No plan. No future. Well, there is really a plan: get someone who wants to invest in the company so the L family can get their investment and get out! Even they see the writing on the wall! I totally agree with all of the posts above. I used to be a member of the management team and I can say this company lacks the simplest thing about professionals and planning. Itâs a family run business and Ari al and Orlando have no clue about how to run a business or to respect their employees. They are fishing for deep pockets to bail the Levy family out as they invested millions of dollars from their money into this sinking ship.
This company had a future one day, but now, itâs a matter of days before they close their doors. Check the recent press releases from Mr. Levy and you will find that almost all of the MPT directors on the board have left (only one remainds - Mr. Sato). It appears that the board no longer has value in Mr. Levy and is leaving perhaps in preparation for the company going private and the 'family' owning and running the business (into the ground!). Arnon Levy is the best liar I have have have ever known.....but people are starting to figure him out and his house of cards is starting to crumble. I feel very bad for all the people that put their faith in him and his lies. Sadly, I am sure he has no trouble sleeping at night. So AL also just got rid of his recent 'saviour' R&D / Global Support VP. Add that to the recent exits of the VP of IPTV Video development, the VP of Video Sales, and the long long list of senior management and there you have it. Soon to be a penny stock! Have fun in the recession AL. At least the lawyers will make some $$ off you! (thats if you choose to pay THEM!) LOL. I will work no more than 10 hours per week in the office.
I will sue any current or past employee I disagree with.
I will fire employees who talk to competitors, or people I am suing.
I will provide regular layoffs, so you can always live in fear.
I will promote those who give up all self worth and bow before me.
I will provide annual salary reviews at least once every 5 years.
I will cut 401k plans and any extra benefits.

I will eventually sell GTK and move on, so you can all be rid of me.

This I promise you!

AL I too am a former employee and brief member of the management team. Arnon has systematically terminated anyone in the company who has any type of vision past the next week. Those he didn't fire, wisely detached themselves from the ever-sinking ship called Guest-Tek. He is a wonderful example of the proverb: We reap what we sow. Orlando is another example of nepotism gone horribly wrong. He has even less business sense than Arnon, and has way too much input into the executive decision making of the company. He is an insecure 12 year old who is only on the team because his Dad/Bro-In Law is the coach (so to speak). When I accepted the job, it took only a few weeks for me to realize what a horrible mistake I had made, and set about divorcing myself from that train-wreck of a business model.
In this case the emperor truly has no clothes and has surrounded himself with people who enable his delusional mind.
Karma truly is a wonderful thing. This isn't a page dedictated to finding out how Arnon Levy operates as a CEO. This is a page for past employees to air their discontent. I find it sad that they have nothing better to do than to hold grudges and post personal gripes on here. It speaks loudly of the reason that they no longer at Guest-Tek. Move on and get some respect for yourself. Even assuming this is somehow all "past employees" is wrong...

But lets pretend it is, then it also points out that many people leave the company with a bad taste in their mouth... and that says something about Arnon's management ability and the environment he fosters. There are plenty of other executives on this site that have good comments from former employees.
